Diversity in Engineering Scholarship

Coming soon! The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will be launching a new scholarship program for students in programs leading toward degrees in Civil Engineering in Illinois colleges or universities. New legislation has made this program available to underutilized populations in the IDOT workforce, as outlined by the Department’s Affirmative Action plan. The goal of the scholarship program is to encourage underutilized populations in Illinois to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering. To be eligible for the scholarship, one must be an Illinois resident, be enrolled full-time at any Illinois college or university in any program leading toward a degree in Civil Engineering, and agree to conditions required by the Department. In forthcoming application periods, candidates will be required to submit an application and associated documents to be considered for scholarship award.

For further information regarding program launch, please contact the Office of Diversity Recruitment and Outreach at 217-782-2545 or DOT.Outreach@illinois.gov.
